Pegasus Airborne (1st Airborne Division) The British 1st Airborne Division (1st Airborne Division) was a military unit that fought under Major General Roy Urquhart in the Battle of Arnhem during Operation Market Garden.
The famous Maroon red and the light blue Pegasus horse stand in front sign for the British 1st Airborne Division. The 1st Airborne Division consisted of both paratroopers and glider units. The famous red beret for paratroopers was introduced in March 1942.
